A short video ad works when it says one thing clearly in a few seconds. Before you make one with an AI video ad maker, plan it the way a marketer would: who is it for, what is the message, and what should viewers do at the end?
Plan your ad in five points
- The first two seconds: open with the benefit or the problem, not your logo. “Your car, shining again” makes the point at once; “Welcome to…” says nothing.
- One message: one product or one offer per ad.
- A clear product: photos on a plain background in good light give cleaner shots.
- Short sentences: each line should fit its scene, and shorter is clearer.
- One ask at the end: “Order now” or “Visit us today”.
Write a clear idea for your ad
The clearer your idea, the closer the storyboard comes to what you want. Name the product, who it is for, the benefit, the offer if there is one, and the ask at the end.
- Instead of “an ad for my shop”, write “an ad for a car detailing shop in Dammam: we bring back the shine, book today”.
- Instead of “perfume video”, write “a product video for a new oud perfume, for people who love oriental scents, limited stock”.
- Instead of “opening ad”, write “a new café branch opening in Jeddah, 20% off the first week, come and visit”.
15 seconds or 30?
Fifteen seconds is enough for one offer or product, and it suits a TikTok ad, a Snapchat ad or a story. Thirty seconds gives you room to explain a service or show a before and after from your own photos, and an ad can run to 60 seconds if your story needs it. Not sure? Start with 15: a focused story is easier to write, and you can make a 30-second version later if you need to explain more.
Who appears in your ad?
- An AI presenter who talks, with lips that follow the words.
- A narrator with no one on screen: a voice over shots of your product, a good fit for a product video.
- You: from a selfie you take with your camera, after you agree.
A presenter suits services that need explaining, a narrator suits a product whose look does the talking, and appearing yourself suits a business whose owner is its face. No famous or real people other than you appear, and there are no customer testimonials. Claude writes the storyboard scene by scene, and you edit it before anything is made.
Arabic voice-over with AI
The voice is half the ad. The studio has many Arabic voices: Saudi, Gulf, Egyptian, Levantine, Iraqi, North African and Standard Arabic, and you hear a sample of each before you choose. If your customers are in Saudi Arabia, try a Saudi voice that sounds like them. Read more in the AI voice-over guide.
Motion graphics instead of a presenter
AI Studio is also a motion graphics maker. When your message is mostly words, like an offer or some news, and needs no product shots, write the message and pick story, square, portrait or landscape, at any length from 6 seconds up to 15 minutes, with music, sound effects and an optional AI voice-over. It’s saved as a video, MP4 or WebM: a simple way to turn text into video with no editing software. Read the motion graphics guide.
Before you post
- Save the video: an ad’s files are deleted from the studio after a while.
- Check that the product in the shots looks like yours, and that any prices and dates in the ad are right.
- Watch the whole ad once with the sound off: the words on screen should carry the idea alone, because some people watch without sound.
- If the platform asks you to label AI-made content, switch that option on when you post.
- Write a short caption that adds to the ad, with one ask; the free AI caption generator can write it for you.
- Try two versions with different ideas and see which suits your audience.
